The highly versatile Syrah grape is grown in many climates, but the coastal microclimate of the Loma Vista Vineyard is ideal for the development of intense flavors and aromas, such as ripe plum and wild berry. Our winemakers employ traditional techniques to preserve the individual flavors or terroir of each parcel of land. The wine is fermented in small, open-top tanks. After fermentation, the wine is aged in French and American oak barrels for 16 months. Our 2002 vintage Syrah reveals deep color, soft tannins, and a lengthy finish with vanilla, oak spice, and cinnamon nuances from barrel aging.
