The Paso Robles appellation of San Luis Obispo County provides a dry climate with warm days and cool nights. Fully mature grapes concentrate jammy flavors and aromas. Merlot grapes from the cooler Bradley Vineyard of southern Monterey contribute acidity and structure. Fermented seperately, the wines are aged in new and used oak barrels from AMerica. This 2003 vintage Merlot features deep purple color with aromas of blackberry and spice. Ripe, jammy flavors of plum and black currents with a smooth, silky mouthfeel.
