FAQ

How long does it take to put a gift together?
After you have made your gift selection, it usually only takes a few minutes to prepare your gift. We can usually do this while you wait, however; we may require more time during busy holiday seasons or for large or complex orders. Gifts that require shipping will be shipped the next business day. Shipping time and cost depends on the weight and destination of the gift, so please check with us for an estimate of shipping costs.

Is a minimum order required?
No! You can have a single bottle custom-labeled, a case, or whatever you need.

Do you have any set-up fees?
No. For standard labels there are no set-up fees. If you wish to use a company logo or special photograph on your label, there is a one-time design fee (per logo or photo) of $5.00, regardless of how many labels you wish. So if we design a label using your logo and you purchase 12 bottles of wine, the fee is $5.00.

Does the price include shipping?
Shipping charges and tax are not included in the gift prices shown.  You can see estimated shipping charges when you view your cart.  Exact shipping charges will be listed when you check out. 

Can I ship out of state or out of the country?
Federal and State laws prohibit shipping alcohol to certain states. Some restrictions also apply within some states. However, we can ship non-alcoholic beverages and gift items throughout the United States. The Connoisseur does not offer shipping to other countries. Please check with us regarding shipping restrictions for your gift destination.

Do you deliver?
We can arrange to have your gift delivered in the Kansas City metro area via courier service for an additional charge.

Does the gift box price include the wine and the box?
No. The Connoisseur's wine gifts include all items listed on the product page and a wooden gift box.  We have left the wine out of the price so customers may choose the wine for each gift.  You may choose a brand name wine or a personalized Connoisseur wine for any gift package.

Where do your personalized wines come from?
Our wines come from the Napa, Sonoma and Central Coast regions of California.

Can I bring in my own wine and have it re-labeled?
The Connoisseur has special permits for labeling our own wine assortment. Legally, we cannot re-label branded wines.

Can I purchase custom-labeled wines without The Connoisseur's wooden gift box?
Yes, absolutely! Please contact our store for pricing information.

Can I make up my own gift box?
Yes, you can choose both the wines and accessories you'd like for your gift. Our gift consultants will be happy to help you with your selection.

Can I design my own label?
Yes, though some restrictions may apply. Please call us for more information.

How many lines do I get on the labels for my message?
Usually six lines of text fit on each label. However, this varies depending on the label and/or typeface used, so please check with us.
 
What should I do if I want to cancel my order?
All cancellations should be made as soon as possible by calling us during business hours (10am-6pm Mon-Sat Central Time) at 816-753-9463.  Timing is critical.   Once we have begun packaging and shipping your order, it is not possible to make any changes or stop the shipment.  If we cannot stop the order you may refuse delivery.  Once the package returns to our store you may request a refund less shipping and handling charges and a 25% restocking fee.
 
What is your refund policy?
The Connoisseur makes every attempt to ship your order in perfect condition.  Please contact us within 30 days of your purchase if your package is damaged or your custom label gifts do not mach what you submit in your order.  At our discretion we may offer a replacement, a discount, a refund or an account credit to be used for a later purchase.
 
Is it safe to transmit my personal information on your website?
Your payment and personal information is always safe.   Our Equifax Secure Global eBusiness CA-1 certificate Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read over the internet.   You will notice the gold padlock indicating you are in a protected area of our website during checkout.

What happens when a wine changes vintages?
Wine Producers change their vintage on a regular basis.  Vintage substitutions will be made if the Wine Producer changes vintage, and we can no longer accuire the previous vintage.  Our website will be updated on a regular basis so our customers know which vintage is available.
