Chardonnay Wines

Chardonnay wines are probably the most popular type being produced today. Often seen as a "rite of passage" for newer vintners, Chardonnay grapes can be grown in a vast number of climates. Many compare it to a Pinot but in fact, it is a cross between the Pinot and Gouais Blanc grapes. The result is a white wine that is able to be altered to produce a wide variety of flavors, including the popular oak flavor as well as that of various fruits.

Chardonnay is also an important component in Champagne and some sparkling wines. There are some Chardonnay Champagnes labeled blanc de blancs, made up solely of Chardonnay grapes.

Chardonnay wines may also be referred to as Aubaine, Melon Blanc, Beaunois, and Pinot Chardonnay.

Choose from the Very Best Chardonnay Wines

Because the best Chardonnay wines come in so many varieties, our clients often ask which ones are our favorite Chardonnay wines. The honest answer is that there is a great Chardonnay for every occasion and that we could go on for days about which ones we prefer in any given situation.

But we have the same problem committing to a single variety of our top merlot wines as well. Remember - our best chardonnay wines are also available in elegant wine gift boxes!
