Dark red color. There are aromas of red cherry, raspberry, vanilla
bean, anise, and black pepper. This wine smells rich and only gets
better in the palate with ripe cherry and strawberry flavors, wrapped
around a spicy core. The plush tannins and crisp acidity make this
wine fresh today, but should age well for up to 6-7 years.
Bill Brosseau, Winemaker
The name Testarossa (Italian for "red-head") was a nickname given to Rob when he was a university student in Italy. Our reserve Pinot Noir, the Cuvée Niclaire, is named after Rob and Diana's children, Nicholas and Claire. Our Diana's Reserve Chardonnay bears the name of our cofounder and proprietor.
Rob Jensen, a fourth generation Northern Californian, has always had a great passion for California winemaking: its past, present, and future. Extensive travel to Europe's great wine growing areas, combined with living in Italy during his university days, further increased this passion and eventually led to the founding of Testarossa Vineyards. In fact, the name of the winery comes from a nickname given to Rob during his studies in Italy: Testarossa, meaning redhead in Italian.
