The nose of the wine is fun to smell...dried strawberry fruit, dusty, dark earth, tangy vitamin c, lightly graced with jasmine vine. The flavors hit your palate with tangy flavors of strawberry, dark cherry fruit, layered with coco powder and a hint of sweet oak.
Giovanni Pasquero pioneered the change of gears in the family business. The family had simply farmed the land, and then sold the fruit to neighboring wineries. Giovanni began making wine using his family’s vineyards in the early 1990's. Giovanni and his wife also run a bed & breakfast in the outskirts of Alba. Giovanni’s neighbors will even rescue you from being stuck in a ditch in the middle of the night, if your driving gets out of hand.
Food Pairing: Perfect with pasta, perhaps traditional pasta of Piedmont. Tagliatelle Carbonara, or Agnolotti (little envelopes filled with ground lamb and herbs) dressed with browned butter, sage, and Parmigiano Reggiano.
