This inaugural vintage of Lincourt Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from two distinct Santa Ynez Valley properties. The majority (70%) of the blend comes from Lincourt’s estate vineyard, Alamo Pintado. Comprised of 4 acres of Sauvignon Blanc the historic, low-yielding vineyard was planted in 1973. The balance of fruit was sourced from the La Pressa Vineyard; a south facing-hillside property, located approximately 5 miles south of Lincourt’s estate. At the winery, grapes from both properties were whole-cluster pressed and transferred to tank. Following a day of cold-stabilization the juice was inoculated and soon after racked to seasoned French oak barrels. Finishing both primary and malolactic fermentation in cask the wine was aged sur-lie for 8 months before being racked, lightly filtered and bottled on May 12th, 2005. Golden straw-like in color, the bouquet displays notes of green apple, white peach, mango, vanilla bean and macadamia nut. On the palate crisp, clean acidity is combined with a round and smooth, creamy texture.
