Makor is a new project from Jose Luis Perez, one of the Spain's most innovative winemakers. This wine is made from 100% Bobal grapes and is created using cutting-edge technology. Mr. Perez used vineyard sensors that allow him to monitor each vine quadrant from his laptop. Computer driven battonage and micro-oxygenation are utilized as well as hands free bottling and labeling.
Jose Luis has taken the additional step of acquiring Rabbinical approval to label the wine Kosher. Interestingly enough, the high level of automation reduces the cost of this approval process, allowing this wine to be a high quality, affordable Kosher wine.

The 2003 Makor Kosher is made from 100% Bobal. Dark ruby/purple-colored, it offers scents of dried raisins and blackberry. On the palate the wine is intense, ripe, and quite hedonistic although light in complexity. For those wanting to get out of the Manischewitz – Mogen David rut, this wine is for you.
